Here is some more bad news. Ericsson radios have been installed in the local hospitals. If the city or county has to transport a city worker, or someone in custody, they use the 800Mhz radio system and it is digital. Also Lifeguard has switched to using the 800Mhz for communications with U.N.M.H. On occasions, they still use Med 2 to talk to ABQ Base. Albuquerque Ambulance also uses the 800Mhz to talk to AFD and BCFD. But in talking to the paramedics the County will not let AAS use the 800Mhz radios to talk to the hospitals. So their UHF radios are still in use!
